Danish road signs

265 signs, grouped by family. The theory test asks you to state what a sign means by picking the right answer, so learn them by family first — the shape and colour already tell you half the answer.

Warning signs A · 40 signs

Triangular with a red border: something ahead needs your attention. Outside built-up areas they normally stand 150-250 m before the hazard, closer inside town.

Priority signs B · 7 signs

Who gives way: yield, stop, priority road, and priority against oncoming traffic.

Prohibitory signs C · 34 signs

Round with a red border: something is forbidden - entry, a manoeuvre, a speed, parking.

Mandatory signs D · 25 signs

Round and blue: something is required - a direction, a cycle path, a minimum speed.

Special regulation signs E · 64 signs

Mostly rectangular: they announce a regime, such as motorway, one-way street, zone or parking.

Where this comes from: codes and names follow the signs of executive order 425 of 13 April 2023 on road marking, as listed on Wikipedia; the drawings come from Wikimedia Commons, where they are free of copyright under section 9 of the Danish copyright act.
