Before you book

Which language can you take the theory test in?

Five languages, and no interpreter. If Danish is not an option for you, the test will be in English — which is exactly the language this platform trains you in.

Five languages

Danish, English, Faroese, Greenlandic and German. No other language is offered for the test.

No interpreter

Since 1 January 2025 an interpreter cannot be used — not in the theory test and not in the practical test.

Digital test: three

The digital theory test runs in Danish, English and German, and it can read the questions aloud to you.

What the rule says

The language rules changed on 1 January 2025 and apply to everyone, including learners who started their education earlier. Passing the theory test with an interpreter before that date does not give you the right to use one now.

  • Theory and practical tests are held in Danish, English, Faroese, Greenlandic or German.
  • Interpreters are not allowed in either test.
  • The digital theory test is available in Danish, English and German, with audio.

If your first language is Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Polish…

In practice you will sit the test in English. That is a smaller problem than it sounds, but only if you prepare for it deliberately: the traffic rules are learnable in any language, while the exam wording is not. Most people who fail on language do not fail on rules — they lose time decoding the sentence.

  • Practise the questions in English from the start, not translated in your head.
  • Learn the recurring exam terms as vocabulary, separately from the rules.
  • Use audio, because the digital test can read the question to you.

How WEXTheory is built for this

The library is English-first, in the wording style you meet at the test, with a Russian helper translation you can open when a sentence blocks you rather than as the default. Exam Words keeps the vocabulary in Danish, English and Russian side by side, with cards, quiz and audio.

Try it in English first

The starter test is free and needs no account. If the English feels heavy, open Exam Words next — that is usually the faster fix.
